Our wastewater aerators combine a simple, durable design with exceptional oxygen transfer efficiency, low maintenance requirements, and dependable long-term operation.
Manufactured from lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and wear-resistant materials, our aeration systems provide an economical solution for wastewater treatment applications. In many installations, power consumption can be reduced by as much as 50% compared to conventional aerators delivering similar performance.
Motor Specifications
The standard Precision Aeration Solutions turbine aerator is equipped with a 5-horsepower, 220/440-volt, 60 Hz, three-phase, industrial-duty motor featuring an epoxy-coated, Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled (TEFC) enclosure with a rain cap.
Alternative motor configurations are available to meet specific project requirements, including single-phase motors, 3-horsepower models, and other voltage options such as 120V and 575V.
Our motors are custom manufactured in the United States to meet our performance specifications by Baldor Motor Company through Austin Armature Works. Because all modifications are completed by the manufacturer, warranty coverage remains fully supported.

Air Shaft Specifications
Each air/drive shaft is manufactured from 316 stainless steel tubing with a 1½-inch outside diameter. Every shaft is precision cut, polished, straightened, drilled, and tapped using advanced CNC machining before being tested for straightness and balance prior to shipment.
The standard shaft length is 3½ feet, positioning the rotating turbine approximately 2½ feet below the water surface when installed on our floating pontoon system.
Custom shaft lengths up to 6 feet are also available. However, the standard shaft is capable of transferring dissolved oxygen to depths of approximately 10 feet, making longer shafts unnecessary for most applications.

Turbine Specifications
The turbine measures 8 inches in diameter and approximately 4 inches in height, including the air shaft coupling.
Every aerator model utilizes the same turbine dimensions. The turbine is molded from high-density nylon reinforced with 30% fiberglass, providing outstanding resistance to wear, corrosion, and demanding operating conditions.
Performance variations between models are achieved through different motor speeds and air shaft lengths rather than changes to the turbine itself.

Pontoon Specifications
Our floating pontoon system features durable polyethylene outer shells surrounding a closed-cell foam core to provide dependable flotation. Under normal operating conditions, the pontoons are guaranteed not to sink.
Each UV-resistant polyethylene jacket has a nominal thickness of ¼ inch. When assembled with the motor deck, the complete floating platform measures approximately:
- 68 inches long
- 44 inches wide
- 18 inches high
The pontoon assembly weighs approximately 140 pounds before the motor, air shaft, and turbine are installed.

Low Water Legs
Facilities with fluctuating lagoon levels may require optional low-water legs beneath the pontoon system.
Manufactured from polyethylene, these support legs help prevent the rotating turbine from contacting lagoon bottoms or protective liners during periods of low water.

Debris Sleeve
Some wastewater lagoons contain strings, rags, and other debris that can interfere with aeration equipment.
Although the smooth stainless steel air shaft rotating at 1800 RPM naturally resists debris buildup, an optional polyethylene debris sleeve is recommended for applications where fibrous materials are common.
The sleeve completely surrounds the air shaft and incorporates a circular leather boot positioned just above the turbine. This design helps reduce the likelihood of debris entering the gap between the sleeve and the rotating turbine.

Installing the Turbine Aerator
Simple Assembly and Installation
Precision Aeration Solutions provides complete assembly and installation instructions with every aerator system.
Installation begins by assembling the floating pontoons, which securely connect using bolts and embedded fasteners. After the motor is mounted to the deck, lifting equipment such as a backhoe or crane positions the assembly so the air shaft and turbine can be attached safely.
If required, optional low-water legs and debris sleeves are installed before the completed aerator is carefully lowered into the water. To protect the equipment, the aerator should never be lifted by the air shaft or dragged across the lagoon bottom.
Installation Methods
Launching the Aerator
Backhoes, crane trucks, or bucket trucks can be used to safely position and launch the completed aerator into the lagoon.
Guy Wire Anchoring
Because the turbine generates balanced 360-degree thrust, only minimal anchoring is typically required. In many installations, a simple shoreline anchor point provides sufficient support.
Control Panel Installation
Pre-wired electrical control panels are available for convenient installation on either a wall or a freestanding post, simplifying electrical setup and system operation.
